The cordless version works well for clipping hair and trimming beards. There is a corded version, Wahl Peanut Palm Size Clipper/Trimmer 8655, that works equally well, without the cordless convenience of mobility and travel. It comes with combs for sizes 1, 2, 3 and 4 and trims to nearly bald with no comb attached. Flip it around with no comb attached and it is perfect for trimming beards to scruff. I love this little booger. It's small, fits the hand, easy to maneuver . . . but powerful. I also had never heard of a clipper that was powered by a single double A battery. Would it be powerful enough on one little battery? You betcha! And even though neither the product photo nor the 'product includes:' portion mentioned a thing about including a battery - it arrived with TWO Rechargeable AA batteries, and a charger . . . a nice surprise.
