This does everything promised and does it well. It is easy to handle, trims cleanly, and the settings are precise.I have owned about a half dozen beard trimmers and this is the best one I've used. I'm grateful that Amazon sent it for me to review. However, for a few bucks more you can get the Braun Cruzer 6 Beard and Head Cruzer, 6 Beard and Head Trimmer. That does all this one does plus it has a precision pop-up trimmer, charges in one hour instead of eight, has an indicator that shows when charging is completed, and includes a carrying case. I can't grow a beard (both by virtue of genetics and military service), but can recommend this both for cutting hair on my head and...other areas.A standard trimmer has plastic guards that end in prongs and only cover the blade from the top. This DOES protect your sensitive areas, but the prongs are annoying. The Cruzer has plastic guards coming up from the bottom AND the top, so NO prongy things and no annoyance, but still, all the protection you need for certain areas. It's battery-powered (charges via wall plug, like an electric razor for your face) which is VERY convenient, since I like to perform certain grooming standing over my toilet for easy cleanup and have no outlet nearby. It is also washable, which I have not tested, but which seems to indicate the shower would be fine too. The unit seems to be adequately sealed to protect from water damage and has a rubberized exterior. I did have go over certain areas a few more times than with standard... This is THEE head trimmer! Note I've not used this as a beard trimmer as I don't have a beard (no facial hair at work). So my review aims at the hair aspect.Now this hair trimmer is most likely a better version than your barber, person who does your hair uses. It's cordless, and instead of the plastic clips they keep changing (#1, #2, #3, etc)its either a beard clip or hair clip. Then you move the desired length via centimeters along side the razor. With anything new, take off less hair to begin with then more until desired. Battery life is good. I've had it for less than a month, so I cannot give a long term review for the battery. Easy to clean. I've only had to blow out excess hair. Charging is anywhere 6-8 hours and you get many shaves. Great shaver. Try it out. |
